If the warning light is operational and it remains extinguished when there is a fault,
turn the ignition off and disconnect the 6 track computer connector.
The fault is due to a permanent earth on track C of
the 6 track connector on the computer side:
Turn the ignition off and check the
operation of the multifunction switch between
tracks C and E of the 6 track connector, computer
side
- Lever in P/N : R = 0 to 3000
- Lever in R/D/2/1 : R = infinity
(or a high value on vehicles without a kickdown
switch)

With the switch still in position on the automatic transmission, repeat the previous tests
* And vehicles where load information and TDC information is given by the injection computer.

Carry out a starting test.
Does the vehicle start?
no
no
Cut the multifunction switch cable as if a replacement were being made.
at the switch side between the brown and red wires.
Are the measurements still incorrect?
yes
Replace the multifunction switch.

The fault is due to a non-conformity in the starter
motor relay wiring:
- Shunt as for manual gearbox version in place of
the relay.
- Insulation fault in relation to earth on the line
between track C on the 6 track connector and
track 2 on the starter motor relay base.
Repair if necessary.
Validate the no load and full load values

Erase the memory if M 4-3.
