Using Zoom (Wide-angle and Telephoto)

Use zoom to take pictures when you are at events such as sports meets or
school plays where you want to zoom in on a distant subject, or when you
want to compose a wide-angle shot of distant scenery.
• 4-way button right a : Enlarges the image.
• 4-way button left b
This camera features a digital zoom that enlarges the image digitally. You
can enlarge a still image by up to 6x or a movie by up to 2x.

Using the digital zoom degrades the image quality.

Press the 4-way button right before
shooting.
A zoom bar is displayed on the bottom of the screen. The indicator in
the zoom bar moves right as you zoom in and left as you zoom out.
The zoom bar remains on the screen for approximately 2 seconds.
This camera can zoom from x1.3 to x6.0 in 13 steps. (Digital Zoom)
When shooting still images, the range of magnification available using
digital zoom depends on the image size (
When shooting movies, the magnification is not related to the number of
pixels, and the maximum zoom is x2.0.
