Configuring mirror repositories

You can configure mirror repositories that reside on Windows NT or NetWare
machines.
• Windows NT machines let you enter a description of the mirror repository.

Configuring Windows NT mirrors

Follow these steps to configure a mirror repository on a Windows NT server:
1. In the Management Console's main menu, click Tools, and then click
2. Click the Mirrors tab.
3. Right-click the name of the mirror repository you want to configure, and

NOTE: You can mark a mirror as externally updated. Doing so tells the
Management Console that the mirror will be updated from the master
repository by an external process or method. This update process or
method is independent of the Management Edition system, and the user
is free to choose any product or method to accomplish the update
operation. To update a mirror, the directory structure of the master
repository must be copied to the mirror repository share. For example, a
batch file containing the following could be used to accomplish this task:
XCOPY \\SERVER\REPO$\\MIRROR\REPO$\ /E

NOTE: NetWare servers cannot update from a Windows NT repository
when using Pull Off or Batch Install.
