The format of an imported browse list is described next.

Formatting imported browse lists

The following rules apply to all entries in an imported browse list:
• Each entry must start on a new line.
• Each parameter must be separated by a comma.
• White spaces before or after the comma are optional and are ignored.
• White spaces in domain names, machine names, or machine comments are
not ignored. For example, MY MAC is not the same as MYMAC.
• Blank lines are ignored.
• All entries (except machine comment) are case-insensitive, and are forced
to uppercase before they are displayed in the Management Console.
• Text file comments (not to be confused with machine comments) are
allowed anywhere on a line and begin with a semi-colon. The program
ignores the text between the semi-colon and the end of the line, and does
not display this text in the Management Console. Text file comments are
optional, but they can make it easier to read a large list.
The three types of entries in imported browse lists are as follows:
1. Simple machine entry, no domain
2. Simple machine entry, with domain name
3. Multiple machine entry for single domain name
• Invalid platform type. For valid platform types, see
"Valid platform types," on page
Correct the file with a text editor and try again. Then, in the network
view, right-click the filename, and choose Refresh to re-read it.
The network view now shows the hidden machines in the browse list.
