Using Mirror and Linked Repositories
• If the Windows 95 or Windows 98 machine uses a mirror that is in a
different Windows NT domain, you must do one of the following:
a. Enable the Guest account on the mirror server.
b. Set up a one-way trust relationship between the domains.
• If the user is not logged on to the workstation, the Update Agent will be
able to access the repository as Windows will not try and use the currently
logged-in user to connect to the machine (because there isn't one).
The following table identifies scenarios of successful and failed updates for
Windows 95 and Windows 98 machines that do log on to a Windows NT
domain:

machine is powered on, but waiting at the prompt for the local user to enter
a user ID and password.
• "Guest account enabled" refers to whether the Guest account has been
enabled on the Windows NT server hosting the repository.

However, keep in mind that enabling the Guest account has its own
security issues.
The domain in which the workstation is must be trusted by the domain
in which the mirror server is.
