Configuring access to directories
After the user IDs have been created for a NetWare-based repository, access
rights must also be granted to the relevant directories, as shown in the
following table:

Granting access to relevant directories lets users already logged into the server
under a different account correctly access the Repository and Upgrades
directories. This assumes that all users are members of the user group
EVERYONE, which is the NetWare default.

Reducing WAN traffic

Large networks often use wide-area network (WAN) links. These differ from
local area network (LAN) segments; they are slower in use and are normally
charged by the amount of traffic or the length of time that the link is active. To
minimize the traffic across WAN links, you can set up anti-virus domains that
do not pass out of LAN boundaries, or you can create mirror repositories.
Follow these steps to configure a mirror repository to reduce WAN traffic:
1. Create a mirror repository on a Windows NT Server or a NetWare Server
2. In the Management Console's main menu, click Tools, and then click
3. Click the Mirrors tab.
