Changing machine configurations

Making machines non-standard

You normally configure a large number of machines at the group, domain, or
Anti-Virus Domain(s) level. However, you might have some machines that you
do not want to use these settings. These are referred to as non-standard
machines.
To view non-standard machines, click View in the Management Console's
main menu, and then select Non Standard Objects. Non-standard machines
can use different anti-virus components, anti-virus software version, install
directory, on-access scanner configuration, or any combination of these. A
machine, group of machines, or domain that is not using the settings of its
parent (the member group, domain, or entire anti-virus domain) has N/S
added before its name.
Installation reports are described in
242.

later date, delete the folder containing the Repository on the
Management Server. By default, this is located at C:\NTMEREPO.
If you use File Manager on Windows NT 3.51, you must first remove the
shares created on the \DISKS and \UPGRADES folders. To remove the
shares, click the Disk menu, and then select the Stop Sharing option.
From Explorer on Windows NT 4.0, you may ignore the share-deletion
warning messages.
NOTE: If you intend to reinstall the Management Edition program at a
later date, keep the folder that contains the program files (this may be the
same directory you chose for the Repository). This preserves
configuration files created after you originally installed the software, and
reduces the reinstallation time.
