B&R Multiplex System
: The B&R Multiplex System is one of the two multiplex systems currently being used by Labrie
N
OTE
Environmental Group, the other being the IFM Multiplex System. Both multiplex systems
share many common features and elements, and generally speaking, operate almost the same
way. The focus of this section is about the B&R Multiplex System. If your waste truck is rather
equipped with the IFM Multiplex System, refer to the dedicated IFM section on page 41.
Labrie Environmental Group has equipped your A
system, which integrates a monitor, a control panel, a joystick, and a set of electronic modules. This
whole system has been tailored to help you operate your unit in an efficient and easy way. The
Multiplex System from B&R is an advanced version of such a system: its architecture has been
completely redesigned to better meet your needs. User interactions are clear, precise and natural.
Like its predecessor, the B&R system is reliable, user-friendly and safe, and it requires less wiring
harnesses to operate. It can also monitor various function status of the body and display warning and
caution messages.
Through its monitor (see Figure 3-18), the B&R Multiplex System informs you of any malfunctions
that may occur during the operation of the truck. Various caution and warning messages can be
displayed on the monitor, depending on the seriousness of the situation. Yellow-highlighted
messages indicate that caution should be used while red-highlighted messages indicate a warning
situation that must be dealt with quickly.

Each time the operator turns the ignition key on, a complete bit test of the multiplex system is
conducted. This test takes some time to complete depending on how the system is powered, either
through a master switch or not.
When the multiplex system starts up, a green LED lights up in the top right-hand corner of the
monitor. The Welcome screen with animated E
