Adjusting the Nipper Height
Adjust the nipper height if the book spine protrudes
too much, if it is rounded, or if air bubbles enter the
spine.
The nipper height sets the shape of the finished
spine.
Open the nipping section lower cover.
Adjust the nipping height.
• Insert the adjusting pin (supplied) into the
nipper height adjusting ring, and use it to turn
the ring.
When the machine is shipped, the ring is set
to 4.5.
EVA: For bookbinding, set the ring to a value
between 3 and 6.
PUR: For bookbinding, set the ring to a value
between 1 and 3.
• If the spine protrudes too much (to lower
the nipper height): Turn the adjusting
ring clockwise.
• If the spine is rounded (to increase the
nipper height): Turn the adjusting ring
counterclockwise.
• If air bubbles enter the spine (to increase
the nipper height): Turn the adjusting
ring counterclockwise or increase the
amount of spine glue.
Close the nipping section lower cover.
