3-2 Doing the Changeover
Enter the book block dimensions.
• Measure the dimensions of the book block used for bookbinding.
• Available range: 135.0 to 320.0 mm (5.315" to
12.600") (in 0.1 mm or 0.005" increments)
• When is pressed, the Numeric
Keypad screen appears.
• Example: if 297 mm is to be entered as the
book block dimensions, press "2", "9", "7" and

When is pressed on the Numeric
Keypad screen, the display returns to
the Setup – Size screen. The value
which has been entered is not imported.
Enter the book block thickness.
• Measure the thickness of the book block used
for bookbinding.
• Available range: 1.0 to 65.0 mm (0.040" to
2.560") (in 0.1 mm or 0.005" increments)
• When is pressed, the Numeric
Keypad screen appears.
• Example: if 3.6 mm is to be entered as the
book block thickness, press "3", " . ", "6" and

Enter the cover sheet width.
• Measure the width of the covers to be bound.
• Available range: 135.0 to 320.0 mm (5.315" to
12.600") (in 0.1 mm or 0.005" increments)
• When is pressed, the Numeric
Keypad screen appears.
CAUTION
When the cover sheet is shorter than the book
block, the side glue on the extra part of book
block sticks on the nipper. If you continue the
binding operation, the extra side glue gets in
between the nipper. Therefore, the nipper may
not open and close. Match the sizes of book
block and cover sheet as much as possible.
Also, the sheet of book block may be stuck
and torn by the sticky nipper.
