Cleaning the Nipper Section

Open the nipper.
(1) Press the
The Binding - Maintenance screen appears.

The nipper opens, and stops.
The carriage clamp moves from above the
nipper.
Press the Emergency Stop button.
Open the right front cover.
Clean the nipper.
Do not use metal spatulas to clean the
nipper. These will scratch the nipper,
causing the binding quality to deteriorate.
When the cover sheet is shorter than the
book block, the side glue on the extra
part of book block sticks on the nipper. If
you continue the binding operation, the
extra side glue gets in between the
nipper. Therefore, the nipper may not
open and close. Match the sizes of book
block and cover sheet as much as
possible. Also, the sheet of book block
may be stuck and torn by the sticky
nipper.
