1-2-5 Spine Gluing Section - continued
Scraper Roller
This is fremoves any excess glue applied to the
spines of the book blocks. Its position changes
along with the tank height, and it can also be
adjusted separately.
Scraper Roller Height Adjusting Screw
Use this screw to make an adjustment only
if you want to change the height of the scraper
roller.
Second Application Roller
This is used to apply the glue on the
spines of the book blocks. The thickness
of the glue on the spine can be changed
by changing the height of this roller.
Tank Lifting Support
When the roller section is lifted, it can
be supported by this bar.
Glue Tray
This collects any side glue which has
overflowed from the tank.
First Wiper
The amount of glue applied to the spines
of the book blocks is set by this wiper
opening. The wiper also operates to trim
the glue on the roller.
First Application Roller
This roller is used to apply the glue to the
spines of the book blocks.
Unlike with EVA, when the PUR glue is to be
replaced, all the glue remaining in the tank must
be removed. If any glue is left behind, it may find
its way into the gaps between the wipers and the
application rollers and cause unevenness in the
amount of glue on the roller. For this reason, the
tank for PUR is constructed in such a way that
the rollers can be lifted to make the tank easier to
clean.
Second Wiper
The amount of glue

opening. The wiper
also trims the glue on
the roller.
PUR PUR
Tank Unit Locking Knob
This positioning pin locks the
tank unit in position so that it will
not move.
Lifting Handle
This is used to lift the roller
when the tank is cleaned.
Temperature Controller
This is used to adjust the glue
temperature.
