(2) Hold the edge of the notching cutter using the
set gauge, and tighten the mounting screw.
Align the height using the dedicated set
gauge and then lock the cutter using SS5-25
as shown in Fig.4. Normally, the notching
depth should be set to 0.6 mm (0.024").
However, if a few sheets on the both sides
open to the inner margin, make the notching
depth deeper. This may prevents the problem.
Set the depth to 1.1 mm (0.04") or lower and
check that the notching cutter does not hit the
cover above.

(3) Remove the set gauge.
Normally, two notching cutters are installed.
You can install up to four notching cutters.
Only when the spine glue is not applied to a
few sheets on the both sides of the book
blocks, and the problem is not prevented by
changing the notching depth and types of the
cutters, install the additional notching cutters
in the same way.
The additional notching cutter, cutter spring
and mounting screw need to be ordered.
Install the adjusting brush and register
brush.
