3-5 Test Binding
Feed the book block.
• Insert the book block, and square it up against
the right edge.
If the book block is difficult to insert
• Adjust the width of the carriage clamp.
(1) Press
The display changes to the Fine-Tune
Adjustments – Main screen.
(2) Press for the carriage clamp width
adjustment to increase the width.
If the carriage clamp width is increased
too much and if the sheets bend easily,
the book block may move out of position
when it is clamped.
• If the high spine book block support guide is
attached, and book block is difficult to insert,
refer to the next step, and replace the guide
with the low spine type.
If the book block falls forward
• If the sheets are soft, the book block will fall
and tilt forward before clamping.
In a case like this, replace the guide with the
high spine book block support guide.
Before replacing the guide, press the
Emergency Stop button.
• Loosen the mounting screws using 5 mm Allen
wrench.
• Press the Bookbinding Start buttons to feed the
next carriage clamp, and change the guide.
Press the Bookbinding Start buttons.
Only one book is bound, and the operation
stops with the book above the nipper. Press
the Bookbinding Start buttons, and deliver
the book to the stacker.
• If there is a problem with the book delivery,
refer to Section 4-7-5.
Check the bookbinding quality.
• If there is a problem with the quality, refer to
Section 4-2 through 4-6.
