Agilent E5900B Emulation Probe

Equipment supplied

• Emulation probe.
• 12V power supply for the emulation probe.
• Power cord.
• Ferrite (reduces electromagnetic interference on power cord).
• Serial cable and RJ12-to-DB9 adapter (for setting the emulation probe's IP
address from a PC).
• 14-pin JTAG ribbon cable (connects emulation probe to target debug
port).
• Target board adapter (cable board) — installed in the emulation probe.
• Firmware for the emulation probe on a 3.5-inch software disk.
• This User's Guide.

Minimum equipment required

The following equipment is required to use the emulation probe:
• A method for connecting the emulation probe to the target system. The
target system must have an appropriate debug port connector. The target
system must meet the criteria on page 53.
• A host computer, such as a PC or workstation. You can also connect the
emulation probe to an Agilent 16700-series logic analysis system.
• A LAN (local area network) to connect the emulation probe to the host
computer or logic analysis system.
• A user interface on the host computer, such as a high-level source
debugger or the logic analysis system's Emulation Control Interface.
