1 Connect the serial cable from the host computer to the emulation
probe.
Use the DB9-to-RJ12 adapter and the serial cable supplied with the emulation
probe.
2 Start a terminal emulator program on the host computer.
If you are using a PC, the HyperTerminal application in Microsoft Windows®
will work fine.
If you are using a UNIX workstation, you can use a terminal emulator such as
cu or kermit.
3 Configure the terminal emulator program for:
• Communication rate: 9600 baud
• Bits: 8
• Parity: none
• Stop bits: 1
• Flow control: none
4 Turn on power to the emulation probe.
When the emulation probe powers up, it sends a version message to the serial
port, followed by a prompt.
5 Press the Return or Enter key a few times.
