Replacing The Bulb For Heater Control - Audi A3 1997 Manual

- Turn rotary control for air distribution to end stop in the "Air to windscreen" position.
- -> Connect Bowden cable to lever arm for footwell-/defrost flap -B-.
- Push down slightly on lever arm -B- for footwell/defroster flap in direction of arrow.
- Secure Bowden cable sheath with clip -A-.
- Turn the rotary control for air distribution from end stop to end stop (both stops must be reached).

Notes:
◆ To avoid damaging the knob on the rotary control, place a thick cloth, for example, between the knob and
the jaws of the pliers, or use pliers with plastic or rubber jaws.

◆ The illumination of the rotary control is with a bulb in the type which was installed up to and including model
year 2000 (at start of production). Later, the lighting was changed to LEDs. These can no longer be replaced.
- -> Detach rotary knob -A- from rotary switch for fresh air blower using pliers.
- Use, for example, nose pliers or puller for lamps to remove bulb from socket.
