1) This positioning motor actuates the fresh/recirculated air flap in addition to the air flow flap.
2) This fault is only detected during basic setting.
3) Both end stops must be reached.

Short circuit or open circuit between
-N147 and -E87.
Two-way valve -N147 defective.
Possible causes of fault
- Loose contact in the wiring be‐
tween road speed sender -G68,
dash panel insert or another com‐
ponent also connected to this signal
(e.g. radio or cruise control unit) and
-E87.
Invalid signal from speedometer -
G21/dash panel insert, or another
connected component destroys the
signal.
- Short circuit or open circuit be‐
tween -G17 and -E87.
Temperature sensor -G17 defec‐
tive.

- Use current flow diagram to locate
and eliminate short circuit, open cir‐
cuit in wiring or fault in pin assign‐
ment.
Check air flow valve and fresh/recir‐
culated air flap3) for ease of move‐
