Display zone
14 Compressor switched off (in vehicles with pressure switch -F129):
▪ Air-conditioner pressure switch -F129 (switch between contacts 1 and 2) actuated 30x
during the current driving period.
Loose contact in wiring between -F129 and -E87.
Fault at switch -F129 or in the refrigerant circuit.

Compressor switched off (in vehicles with high-pressure sensor -G65):
▪ The positive signal from radiator fan control unit -J293 was switched off 30x during the
current driving period. (Refrigerant circuit pressure NOK or loose contact in wiring.)
Loose contact in wiring between -J293 and -E87.
Loose contact in wiring between -J293 and -G65.
Fault in high-pressure sensor -G65, in control unit -J293 or in refrigerant circuit.

In the Audi A3, the voltage is measured only via connector -D-, contact -9- (see display zone 3).

▪ Voltage at terminal "15" in V (connector -D-, contact -15-).
If the display value is less than 12 V while the engine is running, check wiring to -E87 (positive
and earth), using current flow diagram.

Notes (on display zones 3 or 4):
◆ The time interval after the ignition is switched off is calculated by operating and display unit -E87 when the
ignition is switched on (time signal is transmitted by the dash panel insert).
◆ If, when the ignition is switched on, no "Signal for ignition off time" has been detected by operating and
display unit -E87, the -E87 assumes a standing time of more than 4 hours (240 minutes) and it is assumed
that the engine temperature is the same as the ambient temperature. In heating mode, the fresh air blower
may thus have a delayed start despite the engine being warm. The ambient temperature indicator -G106 in
the dash panel insert may display incorrect ambient temperature values.
◆ If more than 4 hours have elapsed since the ignition was switched off, the current measured values of the
ambient temperature sensor are used as temporary ambient and engine temperature for purposes of system
control. If the "standing time" was less than 4 hours, the current values are calculated by the operating and
display unit -E 887 (since heat radiation from the engine and radiator leads to incorrect measurements, the
current values measured by the temperature sensors are suppressed for a specific period).
