22 Servicing, maintenance, disposal

Before any maintenance, cleaning and repair work disconnect the
appliance from the operating voltage.

22.1 Cleaning

 Comply with IP protection
 Please do not use aggressive cleaning agents (solvents or similar agents), but
a cloth dampened with mild soap suds.
 Wipe with a dry, soft cloth.
 Do not use cleaning agents that contain caustic soda, acetic acid, hydrochloric
acid, sulphuric acid or citric acid on stainless steel parts.
 Clean stainless-steel parts with a soft cloth soaked in a cleaning agent suitable
for stainless steel.
 Make sure that no liquid enters the instrument.
 Do not use metal brushes or cleaning sponges of steel wool, as this causes
superficial corrosion.
 Loose sample residues/powder can be removed carefully with a brush or
hand-held vacuum cleaner.
 Remove spilled weighed material immediately

22.2 Servicing, maintenance

 The unit may only be opened by qualified service technicians authorised by
KERN.
 Before opening, disconnect from power supply.

22.3 Disposal

Disposal of packaging and appliance must be carried out by operator according to
valid national or regional law of the location where the appliance is used.
