2.3 Instrument Location
The CombiFlash Companion XL has a footprint of about 1500
square centimeters (230 in
D, 14.5" W × 15.75" D). Ensure that the Companion XL has at
least 3 cm (1.25") of air space behind it for ventilation.
Additional space may be required for the solvent supply and
waste containers.
Ensure there is at least 10 cm (4 inches) of air space on its right
side so that the disconnect device (power switch) may be easily
accessed in an emergency.
Space is required for fraction collection. A Foxy
Collector has a footprint of about 2300 square centimeters

The Companion XL system includes one Foxy 200 Fraction
Collector. If additional Foxy 200s were ordered to extend the
collection capacity, more space is required. Fraction collectors
may be stacked on shelves to conserve bench space. The
Companion XL can control up to four Foxy 200 Fraction
Collectors.
Ensure there are no obstructions on the left side of the fraction
collector that would impede movement of the arm. Obstructions
could misdirect fluids or damage the fraction collector.
Note
If ordering additional Foxy 200 fraction collectors for the system,
be sure to specify that they are intended for use with a
CombiFlash Companion XL. Fraction collectors must be
factory-configured for use with the CombiFlash Companion XL.

requirements.
