4. Start Internet Explorer and type in the address
"http://192.168.1.51/login". The browser will display the
PeakTrak Login screen.
Note
The PeakTrak Login screen indicates that the direct connection is
working.
5. Enter the login password for the Companion XL. The
Companion XL is shipped with the default password of
"companion" (all lower-case). Click the submit button.
Note
The default password may be changed after you have established
the connection. Refer to the Companion XL's Help documentation
after you have completed the connection.
6. The Companion XL begins to download the necessary files
for operation.
7. When the download is complete, the Companion XL will
display the PeakTrak Main window. The title bar will read
"Companion Powered by PeakTrak."
Note
Some versions of Windows operating system will require the
computer to be restarted before new ActiveX plug-ins can run. If
you are notified that the computer must be restarted, you may do
so now. After the computer restarts, complete steps 4 and 5 again
to reach the PeakTrak Main window.
The Companion XL and the computer are now configured as a
stand-alone system. Refer to PeakTrak's on-line help for
operating instructions. Abbreviated instructions can be found
in Section 8 of this guide.
If you want to add the Companion XL to the network, proceed
with Section 7 of this installation guide.
