BRAKE SYSTEM

REAR BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER (DOMESTIC MODELS)

REAR BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER
REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
1. Remove the RH mud guard and footwell.

2. Remove the front
and rear
e
master cylinder
. Use a suitable container to catch
the brake fluid. Dispose of brake fluid properly.
3. Remove the (2) through-bolts
the master cylinder to the mount bracket. Replace
components as needed.
4. Reverse this procedure to reinstall the rear brake
master cylinder. Torque fasteners to specification.
TORQUE
Rear Brake Master Cylinder Fasteners
12 ft-lbs (16 N·m)
TORQUE
Footwell Screws
36 in-lbs (4 N·m)
5. Reinstall the front and rear brake lines back onto the
master cylinder.
6. Proceed to Rear Brake System Bleeding page 10.22
to complete the bleeding procedure.

BRAKE PEDAL REMOVAL /
INSTALLATION
1. Remove the RH mud guard and footwell.
2. Remove the through-bolt
brake pedal to the mount bracket.
3. Remove the bushings
brake lever.
4. Inspect and replace components as needed.
5. Reverse this procedure to reinstall the brake pedal.
Torque fasteners to specification.
TORQUE
Brake Pedal Fasteners
37 ft-lbs (50 N·m)
TORQUE
Footwell Screws
36 in-lbs (4 N·m)
