FRONT BEARING CARRIER

FRONT BEARING CARRIER
INSPECTION / REMOVAL
1. Elevate the front of vehicle and safely support
machine under the frame area.
Serious injury may result if machine tips or falls. Be
sure machine is secure before beginning this service
procedure. Wear eye protection when removing
bearings and seals.
2. Check bearings for side play by grasping the top and
bottom of the tire firmly and checking for movement.
3. If movement is detected, inspect wheel hub, castle
nut torque, bearing condition and upper and lower
ball joint wear.
4. Remove the (4) wheel nuts and remove the front
wheel.

6. Remove the (2) brake caliper mounting bolts and
caliper.
IMPORTANT
Do not hang the caliper by the brake line. Use wire to
hang caliper to prevent damage to the brake line.
7. Remove the front wheel hub assembly.
8. Remove and discard the nut
from the tie rod end.
9. Remove the steering tie rod from the bearing carrier.
10. Remove the upper and lower taper nuts.
11. Using a soft faced hammer, lightly tap on the bearing
carrier while removing the upper and lower ball joint
ends.
12. Remove the bearing carrier from the front drive shaft.
