STEERING TIE RODS
TIE ROD / TIE ROD END REPLACEMENT
Use the following procedure to replace the tie rod
assembly or tie rod ends.
1. Elevate front of vehicle and safely support machine
under the frame area.
CAUTION
Serious injury may result if machine tips or falls. Be
sure machine is secure before beginning this service
procedure. Always wear eye protection.
2. Remove the wheel nuts and the front wheel(s).

4. If replacing only the tie rod end, do the following:

a. Loosen the jam nut
and remove the tie rod end

b. Install new tie rod end and torque jam nuts to
specification.
TORQUE

5. If replacing the tie rod assembly, do the following:
a. Install the new tie rod assembly
b. Install washers
proper orientation (see illustration).
c. Torque the tie rod end nuts to specification.
6. Install the front wheel(s) and wheel nuts. Torque
wheel nuts to specification.
