3 Inspection

WARNING!
Avoid safety risks.
The CARDIOHELP must be checked at regular intervals by trained and authorized MAQUET service
technicians.
WARNING!

To avoid safety risks, an inspection must be carried out after every service or repair and after opening the
device.
CAUTION!
Document all service work.
All maintenance and installation results must be entered in the service protocol.
The inspection must be carried out every 12 months in order to ensure safe operation of the CARDIOHELP.
Various different abbreviations are used for the term "Inspection" in different countries, e.g., STK
(Germany), PM (USA).

3.1 General Information

The inspection must be carried out:
n
according to the maintenance overview, every 12 months;
n
after maintenance;
n
after a repair;
n
after the device has been exposed to mechanical shocks, e.g., after falling.

Carry out maintenance
Before starting the inspection, the following steps must be carried out:

Create the service report to save the current customer settings (⇨ "Update Service Data", page 60).

Service report created before starting service works.

Required servicing steps (⇨ "Servicing", page 66).

Mark the performed servicing steps.

3.2 HLS Test Circuit

3.2.1 Connecting the HLS Module

Place the HLS module on the pump drive turned approx. 10°
clockwise.
2
Turn the HLS module counterclockwise until vertical.
