hook. Once the measurement has been attained you will
need to route the cable through the hook.
Spring installs on outboard side of hex lockplate.
6. Squeeze clutch hand lever to maximum limit three times.
This sets the ball and ramp mechanism. Adjust as follows:
a. See Figure 1-20. Pull ferrule (end of cable housing)
away from bracket. Gap between ferrule and bracket
should be 0.0625-0.125 in. (1.6-3.2 mm).
b. On Ulysses models, gap between ferrule and bracket
should be 0.140-0.180 in. (3.6-4.6 mm).
c. See Figure 1-18. Set free play by turning adjuster (4).
d. Thread jam nut (3) against adjuster (4) and tighten to
120 in-lbs (13.6 Nm).
e. Slide boot (1) over cable adjuster mechanism.
7. Change or add transmission fluid if necessary.
NOTE
Each time the clutch inspection cover is removed, the gasket
must be replaced.
8. See Figure 1-16. Install clutch inspection cover and new
gasket using three fasteners and washers and tighten to
84-108 in-lbs (9.5-12.2 Nm).
