Quasar Components
The Quasar is more than just a mixing console — it is a complete studio system, with various
components that serve different functions. Its main components are:

The Quasar modular Control Surface

The Quasar Engine DSP platform
This chapter gives an overview of the different components to help familiarize you. The following
chapters will build on this familiarity as we dive deeper into Quasar's features and capabilities.

Quasar Control Surface

The Quasar Control Surface is a highly modular desk, consisting generally of a Frame populated
with modules. Its main components are:
§ The Quasar surface Frame, which includes:
o one Rear I/O module,
o a variable number of Rear PSU modules
o any Rear Blank Plates
§ one Master TouchScreen & Monitor module
a variable number of Fader Modules
§
§ any optional modules like:
o the MIC in / HP out Module
o the single channel blank strips
o the 4-Channel Blank Module
The Quasar Control Surface offers a reduced footprint and a completely flat outline, since the
traditional meter bridge has been eliminated and the displays integrated directly into the surface.
