Taking oil samples
•
Under difficult operating conditions – at tropical or very hot locations –
you must halve the oil change interval.
– A hose with a connecting piece for a gauge port.
Hose lengths
1 m (3.3 ft)
2 m (6.6 ft)
4 m (13.2 ft)
– A sample container 0.3 l (0.08 gal).
A set of sample containers with protective mailing bag
and delivery note to the contracted laboratory
– Receptacle, approx. 5 l (1.5 gal);
– The engine must be switched off and secured against unauthorised use;

To determine the usability of the oil, you must take a sample from the
hydraulic system. To do that you must connect the hose with the connecting
piece to a gauge port.

Remove the cover (3).
The gauge port (1) is located on the cylin-
der (2) of the outrigger.
•
Clean the gauge port before connecting the
hose.
