Checking the cotter pin

– The coupling must be closed;

Check the wear on the cotter pin (1). The
diameter of the crowned section (arrows)
must not be less than the following values:
Model series 400:
Model series 700:
If the dimension is smaller than that given
above, have the cotter pin replaced by
Manitowoc Crane Care
dealer or your qualified repair personnel.

Also check the cotter pin for the correct ver-
tical play. Take a screwdriver and press the
pin (1) upwards. The vertical play (2) of the
pin must not exceed 4 mm (0.15 in).
