Viewing and Setting LDAP Parameters

Form," on page D-1.
From the Operator Panel: Setup → Modify Users
From the Web User Interface: Manage Access → Users
An administrative user can use this menu item to modify or delete any user
account.
From the Operator Panel: Setup → LDAP
From the Web User Interface: Setup → LDAP
Note: You can enable or disable LDAP settings from either the Operator Panel or the Web
User Interface. However, you can make changes to the LDAP settings only from the Web
User Interface.
1. Choose Enable to allow users to access the library using their accounts on the
LDAP server, or choose Disable to require all users to log in with a local user
account.
2. If LDAP is enabled, specify the following general information:
v User Provider is the URL of the location of the user information on the
LDAP server (such as ldap://ldap.server.com:383)
v Group Provide ris the URL of the location of the group information on the
LDAP server (such as ldap://ldap.server.com:383)
v Default Domain is the URL of the server that will appear on the login screen.
3. If LDAP is enabled, specify the following authentication and group
information:
v Principle authentication is the login ID that allows the library to access the
LDAP server.
v Credential authentication is the password for the login ID that allows the
library to access the LDAP server. You must enter the same password twice.
v User Group is the name of the group to associated with the library.
v Admin Group is the name of the group associated with the library
administrator.
4. To test the LDAP settings, click the Test LDAP Connection button. If the
settings are valid, a Success message displays. If there is a problem with your
LDAP settings, a Failure message displays.
5. Click Submit Changes to save your LDAP setttings.
Note:
When LDAP is enabled, the login screen gives the user a choice between using
local authentication (the login and password are stored on the library) or LDAP
authentication (the login and password are stored on a server, and the user must
specify the LDAP domain name). If LDAP access is disabled, the LDAP options
will not appear on the login screen.
