Touching Apply on any one of the three tabs applies the settings on all tabs. HTTP
Service is restarted as a response to selecting Apply after modifying the SSL, Trap
Registration, and/or SNMP Version settings. All logged in users will have to
reconnect after HTTP services have been restarted.
Enabling SSL
Administrative users can enable or disable SSL settings. The default setting is
disable.
Selecting Apply applies the modified settings to all tabs: SSL, Trap Registration,
and SNMP Version.
Setting Trap Registration
The library ignores all SNMP SET operations, so external management applications
cannot register themselves to receive SNMP traps from the library. The Trap
Registration tab lets you manually register external applications.
The trap registration can only be set by administrative users from the Operator
Panel.
Note: The screen lists existing IP Addresses and the corresponding port numbers.
Selecting Apply applies the modified settings to all tabs: SSL, Trap Registration,
and SNMP Version.
The following options are available on the screen:
v Create IP address
v Modify IP address
v Delete IP address
Enabling SNMP Version
The SNMP versions available on the library can be enabled or disabled at any
time. It is recommended that SNMP v3 be enabled.
v SNMP v1 and SNMP v2c
v SNMP v3 - enabled by default
The authentication algorithm is set to MD5 and the encryption is disabled
system-wide.
Selecting Apply applies the modified settings to all three tabs: SSL, Trap
Registration, and SNMP Version.

TS3310 Tape Library Setup and Operator Guide
Version Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a set of protocols for
managing complex networks. SNMP works by sending messages, called protocol
data units (PDUs), to different parts of a network. Agents, which are
SNMP-compliant devices, store data about themselves in Management
Information Bases (MIBs) and return this data to the SNMP requesters, such as
the host's monitoring application.
– An empty IP Address field appears at the top of the list.
– Default Port number is 162.
– If no IP Address is selected, the Modify and Delete buttons are dimmed.
