Troubleshooting
Description
Backplane forwarding
memory test failed.
This message is not an error
message and it is not
service effecting.
The error is stating that the
SWIP is being reset
because CRR failed on the
FAD. Errors will be logged.
If errors continue, the switch
will take the card offline to
avoid compromising traffic.
The SWIP and FAD are
located on CP/SF card and
it is the interface to the
TMUXs on the I/O cards.
The problem may be on
either end. hwDumps will
help determine where the
errors are, however, one
sample is not enough.
This message does not
always mean that the
standby/backup CPU is
bad.
The consistency check on
the octapid failed for the
record number given above.
Occasional errors are okay
but if the frequency of these
errors increases, this is
likely a hardware issue.
Device 20 is a power
supply. This error occurs
because some of the power
supplies come with un-
programmed seeprom. The
seeprom message appears
once during boot-time and
never re-appears. It does
not cause any operational
impact.
Remedial Action
Reseat the module. If the error returns,
replace the module.
Ignore this message.
If you see these message frequently,
contact Avaya Technical Support.
You will see these messages at boot up
or upgrading the standby CPU, If this
message appears when you are not
performing routine maintenance
contact Avaya Technical Support.
Ignore this message if service is not
impacted. Reseat (remove and
reinsert) the module to stop streaming
errors. If reseating the module does not
resolve the issue and service is still
impacted, replace the module.
You can reprogram the power supply
from boot monitor mfg-diag. If you take
out the power supply, you can obtain all
information required to program it on
the power supply sticker.
Procedure to reprogram PS:-- Before
performing the following steps, remove
the PS and note the information on the
sticker and the chassis information
such as the base MAC address. Boot
the switch to get to the monitor mode
