Troubleshooting
To improve performance of syslog tracing, configure the MAC address of the next-
hop, the outgoing port on which the next-hop can be reached and/or the VLAN
corresponding to the port.
trace syslog enable

When the traces that were enabled are generated in the switch, those traces are
captured and logged in the syslog server.

Configures the destination IP address of the syslog
packets, which is the IP address of the syslog server
or relay).
<ipaddr>
specifies the IP address in the format
xx.xx.xx.xx.xx.xx
<mac>
specifies the MAC address of the next hop
towards the destination.
<port>
specifies the port number in slot/port
format.
<vlan Id>
identifies the VLAN that the port
belongs to. The range is 1..4094.

trace syslog
Note:
Before enabling Syslog tracing, you must
configure a destination IP address.
Syslog tracing is disabled by default.
