Issue: license file generation does not succeed

This section describes methods to troubleshoot the following licensing scenario:
• The license file is not generated. The error message appears: License filename contains
invalid characters
Possible causes:
• A user attempts to generate a license file using illegal filename characters
Procedure steps
Do not use illegal characters. For information about allowed characters, either click the
File Format ? link on the GENERATE LICENSE page, or see Avaya Ethernet Routing
Switch 8800/8600 Administration, NN46205-605.

Issue: licensed features cannot be configured

This section describes methods to troubleshoot the following licensing scenario:
• After a license file is installed and the switch is rebooted, the associated licensed features
cannot be configured.
Possible causes:
• The license file is not stored in the correct location on the switch.
• The license is not installed.
The commands used in this procedure are the same for CLI or ACLI.
Procedure steps
