Incremental counters

The limit values of the counter are freely specified within the
range of values by means of parameterisation (
and Tab. 3/33). The corresponding bit in byte 0 of the PII sup-
plies the alarm signal (limit value reached/not reached). The
current counter setting is shown in the PII (byte 2 ... 9)
(
section 3.2.1).
Counter inputs can be configured as incremental or decre-
mental counters by using the counter configuration paramet-
er. In addition, the edge polarity can also be specified
(
Tab. 3/30).
Incremental counters count upwards starting from the para-
meterised lower limit value to the upper end of the counting
range (32767).
Upon reaching the parameterised upper limit value, the bit
assigned to the relevant channel is set in byte 0 of the PII.
Upon reaching the counting range limit the counter is
stopped (maximum value = stop value).
