2. Mounting and dismantling

CPX terminals (-P) are supplied fully assembled. It may be
necessary to fit or remove the connection blocks for the fol-
lowing reasons:
– replacing the connection technology
– to simplify fitting the sensor plugs or cables.
It may be necessary to mount or dismantle modules for the
following reasons:
– Exchanging a module
– Setting a miniature switch (module dependent)
– Replacing defective electronics modules.
If the device has been expanded or converted, it will no
longer correspond to the delivery status. The responsibility
for ensuring the degree of completion and configuration are
compliant with the certification is thereby transferred to the
operator or the person who has expanded and/or converted
the product.
Warning
If threads are damaged or seals are defective, the device
can lose its specified IP protection class. This can annul
the ignition protection of the device.
When replacing modules check the seal and the threads

of the interlinking blocks and, if they are damaged, re-
place the corresponding interlinking block.
