Incorrect insertion is still possible, however, if mechanical
coding is used incorrectly.
Mark the connections and cables used for the device
•
(colour coding and labelling) to prevent a mix-up of con-
nections, particularly with regard to intrinsically safe
and non-intrinsically safe circuits.
The coding system is optionally available
( www.festo.com/catalogue).
The coding system consists of coding tabs and coding pro-
files. For each contact you can:
– insert a coding profile into the groove of the plug-in block
and
– insert a coding tab into the recess of the box header.
If two coding elements meet at a contact point, insertion of
the connector is mechanically locked for this point.
