Warning
An incorrect assignment of connection blocks and I/O
modules when conducting installation and maintenance
work can cause severe damage during operation.
To avoid incorrect assignment, pay attention to the cor-
rect mechanical coding of the connection blocks when
mounting.
Faulty mechanical coding will result in the certification be-
coming invalid.
Connection blocks and CPX-P modules are equipped with a
mechanical coding system. The coding system allows connec-
tion blocks to be mechanically coded, thereby preventing a
module from being inserted into a different product version
during subsequent maintenance work (for intrinsically safe
and non-intrinsically safe wiring) or into a foreign module
type.
The top of each CPX-P type electronics module is provided
with a fixed coding pin. The configuration and shape of the
coding pin depend on the module type and product version.
