General information

CPX terminals are delivered in assembled form. Additional assembly may be required for expansion or
conversion:
– Demounting or remounting of the connection block when exchanging the connection technology
– Demounting and remounting of the electronics module by setting the DIL switches or exchanging
the electronics module
Arrangement on the CPX terminal
For further information on the arrangement of the modules see the description of the CPX system and
the module documents è 1.1 Applicable documents.

Mechanically coding the manifold block

To prevent an incorrect allocation of the manifold block to the electronics module, this connection can
be mechanically coded.
– The electronics module has a permanently attached coding pin at the top .
– The manifold block has a recess for a coding piece at the bottom.
– Manifold block in pre-assembled CPX terminals are mechanically coded at the factory.

Meaning
The process image is part of a controller's system memory. At the start of
the cyclical program, the signal states of the input modules are transferred
to the process image for the inputs (PII). At the end of the cyclical program,
the process image for the outputs (PIO) is transferred to the output mod-
ules as a signal status.
