Removing the ESI probe

Required materials
Chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves
To remove the ESI probe:
Warning:
be contaminated with biohazardous and/or toxic materials. Always
wear chemical-resistant, powder-free gloves while performing this
procedure.
Warning:

Prepare the instrument for working on the source (see

Disconnect the tubing from the ESI probe.
3.
Disconnect the ESI probe's cable from the high voltage connector.
4.
Unscrew the probe locking ring.
Warning:

Carefully remove the ESI probe from the probe adjuster assembly.

If available, fit the protective sleeve to the ESI probe tip.

Requirements:
If you are replacing the tubing supplied with the instrument, you
must minimize the length of the tube connecting the diverter valve
to the ESI probe. Doing so minimizes delays and dispersion.
When cutting the tubing to length, cut it squarely (that is,
perpendicular to its horizontal axis).
