11.4.4 Local Connection

Before connecting using a local connection via an RS-232 serial cable, the engineer must enter
YWW
at the keypad whilst in Engineer Mode. Whilst this function is in operation all the keypads
are locked out and cannot be used.
If a connection is not made within 30 seconds the panel returns to normal and the keypads can be used
again.
Whilst connected to the panel the operation of upload/download is that same as for connecting using a
modem over a telephone line.
To select the Com port to use, see section 11.5.1. The required cable is available from Pyronix.

11.4.5 Dial Back

When connected to a panel the engineer can request that the panel disconnects the current
upload/download session and dials a specified telephone number to start a new session.
When activated the engineer enters the following information:
Dial Back Number
This is the number that the panel will dial.
Answer Tone Time
When the panel dials it will keep the answer tone going for this length of time, the value of this can be 1 to 51
seconds. This allows time for the MXUDL software to answer the phone and make the connection.
Send Dial Back Button
This will send the command to instruct the panel to dial back. If it is successful then the PC will hang up the
phone and wait for the panel to call back.
Save As Defaults...
This will save the values entered. The values can also be changed in the Options screen. See section 11.5.3
for more information.

11.4.6 Sending Data to a Panel

When connected to the panel press on the Data to Panel button to send all the data to the panel.
When connected to the panel press on the Data to Panel button to send only the data that has been
edited to the panel. Use this if only a few parameters have been changed, as it will speed up the
upload.
A progress bar is shown on screen showing how much of the transfer has been completed. If the transfer fails
then the program will show an error message.
If the communication fails on a send data to panel the next time a send data is attempted the engineer will be
given the option to continue from the point at which the communications failed or to send all the data again. If
the continue option is chosen only those parameters that were not sent the first time are sent. This option will
not be available if the panel screen has been closed or Save has been pressed.

11.4.7 Getting Data from a Panel

When connected to the panel press on the Data From Panel button.
A progress bar is shown on screen showing you how much of the transfer has been completed. If the transfer
fails then the program will show an error message.

11.4.8 Verifying Panel Details

This will check the information that the panel holds is the same as the record on the PC.
This will download the panel information and check this against what is stored on the PC. The information is
displayed in two lists, one showing the differences and one showing all the panel details.
