Installing a Matrix with Proximity Readers
Pyronix Proximity Readers are available which directly connect to the Matrix Keypad Bus. This installation
method satisfies DD243 section 6.3d – 'Portable ACE' and DD243 section 6.4.4 - 'Completion of unsetting is
achieved using portable ACE'. Also see DD243 section A.1.
Installing a Matrix with 'When Unsetting is carried out in conjunction with an ARC'
The Matrix supports remote Arming and Disarming via the UDL software, this covers DD243 sections 6.3e
and 6.4.6.
Note: DD243 states that for some of the above methods, any limitations should be made clear to the
customer.

9.4 Resetting Following an Alarm Condition

DD243 section A.4 states that unless the system has been installed in accordance with DD243 sections
6.4.2, 6.4.3 or 6.4.6, after a confirmed alarm has been transmitted the system can only be reset by means not
normally available to the customer. This is catered for in two ways in the Matrix:
1.
Engineer reset (see section 7.10)
2.
Anti-code reset (see section 7.10)
Both Engineer and Anti-code reset can be configured to activate after a confirmed alarm only to satisfy DD243
section A.4 or to activate after any alarm to satisfy other requirements.
If both Engineer and Anti-code are enabled, either code will reset the system. This is useful so the system
can be reset over the telephone in conjunction with the user without giving out the Engineer code, or on-site
by the Installer using the Engineer code.

9.5 Mis-Operation Signals

Reporting a Mis-operation Signal
The Matrix panel supports sending a mis-operation in the following way;
If open close reporting is enabled, the ARC should follow the DD243 section 7.4.3b i.e. during the alarm
filtering delay the ARC receives a signal indicating that the system is unset.
If open close reporting is disabled then the option 'Send Open After Alarms' should be enabled (see section
9.1). Again, the ARC should follow the DD243 section 7.4.3b i.e. during the alarm filtering delay the ARC
receives a signal indicating that the system is unset.
See DD243 section 6.2.2.
Note – Send open after alarms is designed to work with the Contact ID reporting format, if BSIA or an
external communicator is used, the Central monitoring station should be told to interpret a restoral of
the Alarm channel as a mis-operation signal.
