Are all of the above connections properly connected?

Check for binding of gears or other components associated with the ADF
elevator tray lift motor.
Are the above components free from binding or damage?
Step 3
Check the ADF elevator tray drive motor for proper operation.

Place an undamaged document on the ADF elevator tray and perform an
ADF scanner test.

Step 1
Check the ADF pick roller for proper installation. Remove the ADF pick
roller cover, and fully press the ADF pick roller toward the sensor to make
sure the mounting latch is properly engaging the slot in the shaft.
