Status Byte Register
The Status Byte Register is the summary-level register in the status reporting
structure. It contains summary bits that monitor activity in the other status
registers and queues as shown in
register—its summary bits are set TRUE or FALSE (one or zero) by the presence or
absence of the condition which is being summarized.
The Status Byte Register can be read with either a serial poll or the *STB? query,
but it is altered only when the state of the overlying status data structures is
altered. The entire Status Byte Register can be cleared by sending just the *CLS
command to the instrument in a program message.
