Chapter 4: Managing Targets and Access Methods
Known Limitations on Targets
44
Add an access method to the target.
There are some known limitations on how Target access sessions
function compared to typical KVM Client sessions.
Window Layouts can include KVM sessions only. VNC, RDP and SSH
•
sessions are not restored. See
•
Window Management, for example tile functions, only work for KVM
and VNC sessions. See
•
In the Navigator's context menu, "Close" is only available for KVM
and VNC sessions.
When opening a session, "Open in new / Open in current" is available
•
for KVM and VNC. RDP and SSH only support "Open in new".
When clicked a second time while a session is already running, RDP
•
and SSH opens a new session. KVM and VNC focus on the existing
client.
The Navigator only tracks the "connected" state, represented by bold
•
name in the list, for KVM and VNC.
•
For RDP and SSH, event log entries are only generated for the
connection attempt. There are no log entries for "close session" or
"failure".
VNC: Only RFB protocol versions 3.3 to 3.8 are supported.
•
Proprietary extensions and versions are not supported, for example:
RealVNC protocol version 4.x and 5.x
TightVNC tight authentication
UltraVNC authentication
Connections over TLS, which is proprietary for some VNC servers
