Default Setting
All interfaces are enabled.
Command Mode
Interface Configuration (Ethernet, Port Channel)
Command Usage
This command allows you to disable a port due to abnormal behavior
(e.g., excessive collisions), and then reenable it after the problem has
been resolved. You may also want to disable a port for security reasons.
Example
The following example disables port 5.
Console(config)#interface ethernet 1/5
Console(config-if)#shutdown
Console(config-if)#

switchport broadcast packet-rate

This command configures broadcast storm control. Use the no form to
disable broadcast storm control.
Syntax
switchport broadcast octet-rate rate
no switchport broadcast
rate - Threshold level as a rate; i.e., octets per second.
(Range: 64-95232000)
Default Setting
Enabled for all ports
Packet-rate limit: 32000 octets per second
Command Mode
Interface Configuration (Ethernet)
Command Usage
• When broadcast traffic exceeds the specified threshold, packets above
that threshold are dropped.
