NSTRUCTIONS FOR TROUBLESHOOTING COMMON COMPONENT ERRORS
Turnstile errors
Errors involving the turnstile usually involve the lock-pin or the motor that controls it. Before you begin,
remove the main door, and turn off the station at the power switch. See
No.

Turnstile position / retry error
Check the area around the turnstile and the turnstile motor as well as the pin actuator assembly.
TABLE 4. Troubleshoot Nexus Station turnstile errors
Action | component
1 Inspect the power harness PCB connection.
2 Observe LED signal indicators
3 Inspect the turnstile. Push the sides of the front
compartment to the left or right to attempt to
move it.
See Align the turnstile
nance chapter of this Guide.
4 Inspect power harness and PCB connections for
the turnstile motor and encoders.
5 Inspect the pin actuator encoder connection and
the sensor mount bracket behind the pin actua-
tor assembly.
6 Set the turnstile index ("commission the station").
See Commission the station at the Nexus panel
the Maintenance chapter of this Guide.

URNSTILE ERRORS
Description
The pin-lock at the front of the station, beneath the turnstile assembly, has
failed either to release or set as expected, leaving the front turnstile compart-
ment off-center so that a carrier cannot be retrieved or loaded.

Harnesses–P5; PCB connection–J5
D32, D33
If indicators remain lighted without instructions from
the Diagnostics menu, the driver may have failed. In
that case, replace the board.
Turnstile is in locked position with the pin actuator
engaged.
in the Mainte-
If the turnstile does not move, the pin actuator is
engaged. Dis-engage it by pulling on the ring at the
end, and attempt to move the turnstile to the left or
right while the pin remains disengaged.
If the turnstile moves, position it so the front compart-
ment is centered within the security door opening.
Restart the station, and see if the error clears.
If the pin actuator is not operable, go to the next step.
Power harnesses–P4; power PCB connection–JP; encoder
harnesses–J30 (turnstile shift encoder) & J29 (turnstile
actuator encoder)
Encoder is properly connected at both ends, and the mount
bracket is upright and not bent away from the rotating
magnets.
Connect encoder if necessary.
Correct the orientation of the bracket if necessary.
If the pin actuator remains inoperable, replace it.
Turnstile completes the commissioning process, and a mes-
in
sage at the display indicates that the power must be cycled.
Turn the power off and back on.
