Turnstile motor and arm
Follow these steps to remove the turnstile motor and arm.
1
Disconnect the turnstile frame from the base frame, and raise the core-turnstile assembly from the
base frame using the Nexus Station one-person installation kit.
page 50.
2
Lock the winch and trolley in place with the core-turnstile assembly raised from the station, and
leave it in a raised position while you complete the repair or replacement.
3
Disconnect the harnesses from the back of the motor, noting their orientation so you can reconnect
them properly.
4
With a small Phillips-head screwdriver, remove the two lock nuts from the stabilizing bracket. Then,
with an Allen wrench, remove the brass spring-loaded screw from the stabilizing bracket. Push the
stabilizing bracket through the frame, toward the core assembly.
5
With an Allen wrench, remove the shoulder screw that attaches the cylindrical spacer to the motor
arm.
6
With a Phillips-head screwdriver, remove the four screws that attach the motor arm to the motor. Tip
the motor toward you so you can reach the screw that is closest to the edge of the turnstile.
7
With the four screws removed from the motor arm, gently push the motor down through the turn-
stile frame to remove it.
Follow these steps to attach the turnstile motor and arm to the lower turnstile frame.
1
With the core-turnstile assembly raised from the station and secured with the winch and trolley,
place the motor—roller and key-groove facing upward—through the circular opening at the right-
front edge of the turnstile frame.
2
Slide the motor-arm opening over the roller and key groove, and attach the motor arm to the motor
with the four Phillips-head screws. Position the arm as shown in the previous assembly photo.
3
Place the cylindrical spacer into its position under the motor arm. Place a dot of Loctite® 222™
Thread-locker on the end of the shoulder screw, and loosely attach the screw through the motor arm
and into the spacer.
4
Push the stabilizing bracket forward through the rectangular opening at the edge of the turnstile
frame. Then attach the lock nuts and brass spring-screw to the stabilizing bracket.
