RIMARY CONTROL BOARD
Electronics
Descriptions of the connections and the components they control are shown in the next illustration and
table. The circuit boards are shown in three pieces (left PCB, right PCB and HMI display board) to allow for
greater detail in the illustration. The connections are listed clockwise, starting with the upper-left corner of
the primary circuit board.
Harnesses and cables must be properly attached to their correct positions on the electronic-control
assembly. Most pins on the control panel are scored and configured so that their harness connections fit on
the pins only one way. Each pin set is market with a unique letter-number combination that matches to the
motor or sensor that it controls. Harnesses are also marked with numbers that match the pins where they
are connected at each end. In addition to the lettered and numbered markings, most pins on the circuit
boards also include an abbreviated description of the component that each controls.
Identification numbers for circuit-board pins are preceded by the letter "J, ' identification numbers on the
various components are preceded with a "P." Harness ends are labeled to make clear where they connect on
the circuit board as well as at the component.
When troubleshooting problems at the station, verify that the harnesses for the affected components
are properly attached at both the control board and the component end point.
Primary control board
The primary control board contains the electronic connections that control motors, encoders, and sensors in
the station.
